Getting started with Ovi Music Unlimited, is as easy as purchasing a compatible device, placing your simcard in it, and switching it on.

Once you switch your device on, you’ll notice it send a text messaging to a service called “MyNokia”.

Dont worry though, this is just to let the service know that you’ve activated an Ovi Music Unlimited Device.

Within a few minutes you should receive an activation code for the Ovi Music Unlimited service.

This code is special to each unique user, so you should not share your code until you have used it up.

Once you get your code, you can connect your Ovi Music Unlimited device to your PC and start up Ovi Music Player, making sure you have an active Internet Connection at the time.

Once Ovi Player loads up, it should load the Ovi Music Store India. Click on the “Activate” button on the left side of the store, under “Ovi Music Unlimited”.

The app will then detect your device, and if its an OMU, proceed towards step two, where you setup your brand new Ovi Music Unlimited account.

Once you do that, you’ll be automatically signed in and have instant access to a library of close to 4 million tracks on the Ovi Music Store India, for a year. You’ll notice that the Ovi Music Unlimited activation icon that was previously on the left, now does not appear for you.

From that point on, you can download as many songs as you want. And dont worry if you mistakenly delete a song, you have 3 years to re-download it and it’s all yours to keep!

If you click on the “My Music” tab, you’ll see the content you have downloaded so far.

This includes every single track you’ve downloaded and saved on your PC. You can also transfer all your tracks to your OMU music device and carry them around with you, whereever, to listen to, whenever.

Hopefully at the end of this exercise, and provided you have a decent enough internet connection, your Nokia X6 should be on it’s way towards unlimited Music from Ovi. I know mine is !
